Harvest Project Food Rescue
ACCESS TO HEALTHY FOOD FOR THOSE IN NEED SHOULDN’T BE A HEADACHE AND WE'VE FOUND THE SOLUTION!
Our Story
The Harvest Project Food Rescue is 100% volunteer-operated and focuses on providing fresh produce to families in need at no cost.
We began as a community program in 2014 and have been able to grow through our partnerships with other local non-profit community organizations and produce distributors. As a result,
The Harvest Project has been able to redirect over 16 million pounds of produce and provide quality fruits and vegetables to over 1.5 million people. In addition, we have also successfully composted over 3 million pounds of food that would normally end up in landfills.
“Our ability to create and prove a system that facilitates access to healthy food for people in need in the Dallas area has given us energy to push this program forward for years to come”
— Danae Gutierrez, FOUNDER
